NOAA Operational Chesapeake Bay Specific Chlorophyll-a Product

This Chlorophyll-a product is based on the Chesapeake Bay Regional Chl-a algorithm ( Werdell, P. Jeremy, et. al., Approach for the long-term spatial and temporal evaluation of ocean color satellite data products in a coastal environment, Proc. Of SPIE Vol. 6680, 66800G, 2007), and generated operationally at NESDIS. The algorithm is tuned specifically to the Chesapeake Bay region to support the regional research, monitoring and management users.

Monthly Composite MODIS Standard Products of Chesapeake Bay

MODIS (the MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) Chlorophyll-a, K490, and Rrs667 products are generated at CoastWatch Central Operations and transferred to the East Coast Node daily. East Coast Node keeps these data and generates monthly composites of these three products for the Chesapeake Bay region since October 2005.
