These images of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf of Mexico are processed from POES AVHRR data. Using the CoastWatch Data Analysis Tool (CDAT), which is part of the CoastWatch Software & Utilities package, data were processed into Red-Green-Blue (RGB) composites using channels 1,2, and 4. Channels 1 and 2 used the default linear enhancement functions and Channel 4 used the reverse of the linear enhancement function.
